Applesauce Coffee Cake Recipe
This Applesauce Coffee Cake Recipe is an easy coffee cake to make using Bisquick mix.
The applesauce makes this coffee cake moist and yummy. You can use either regular or chunky applesauce in this recipe.
Adding walnuts and raisins to the recipe make this already good coffee cake even better. The combination of cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves will fill your whole house with a wonderful aroma as it bakes.
Covered with a sweet streusel topping, this coffee cake is good enough to serve for dessert.
Applesauce Coffee Cake Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 cups Bisquick mix
- 1 cup applesauce, at room temperature
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
- 2 eggs, at room temperature
- 1/2 cup walnuts, coarsely chopped (optional)
- 1/2 cup raisins (optional)
Streusel Topping
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons Bisquick mix
- 2 tablespoons cold butter
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Preparation
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour a 9-inch square baking pan.
2. In a small bowl, mix 1/4 cup sugar, 2 tablespoons Bisquick mix, butter and 2 teaspoons cinnamon with a fork just until crumbly. Set aside.
3. In a large bowl, combine Bisquick mix, applesauce, granulated sugar, brown sugar, oil, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and eggs. Stir until well blended. If desired, stir in walnuts and raisins.
4. Pour batter into baking pan. Sprinkle streusel topping mixture over batter.
5. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Remove from oven and let cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes. Serve warm or at room temperature.
